Beef steak lovers have, in recent times, become increasingly aware and appreciative of the rib eye's unique combination of tender, tasty meat and generous marbling. It needs little more than a pinch of seasoning upon cooking to really draw out the distinctive and robust flavour.

Ribeye steaks are sometimes called beauty steaks, and anyone who tries it will agree that the taste really is as attractive to the palate as any meat cut around. Tender, juicy and very flavourful, this popular beef option contains just the right amount of fat, and it can be cooked quickly and efficiently on high heat for the most mouth-watering results.

Ribeye steaks vary as they can be boneless or bone-in, so some steaks contain a piece of rib bone that can extend beyond the muscle or be trimmed to align with the meat. Sometimes, bone-in ribeye steak is labelled as rib steak.

  • Simplicity is key when it comes to cooking your rib eye. Rare or medium rare is best, so rub a little oil onto each side of the steak, flavour with a little sea salt (our Pink Himalayan is delicious) and fry in a very hot pan or griddle for a minute or two per side. Rest the meat for 5 to 10 minutes wrapped in foil before serving with crunchy chips and garlic mayo spiked with lemon and herbs.

  • Our rib-eye steaks are taken from the fore rib of the beef carcass. This is deservedly one of the most prized beef cuts – indulgent and smooth-grained with a buttery texture and sweet melting fat that translates directly to flavour. Because all of our beef cattle are slow grown, their muscles have time to mature naturally and they lay down meat beautifully marbled with fat.
