Prime crowning is the process of removing the back bone, legs & wings from a bird leaving just the breast meat which sits proudly like a 'crown', hence its name. This allows the bird to cook evenly but for a shorter period of time than if the legs were still attached. More often than not, roasting a whole bird results in overcooked dry breast meat but perfectly cooked leg & thigh meat.
Our prime chicken crown on the bone is oven ready, meaning there is no additional preparation for your roast. Just take the Chicken out of the packaging and pop in the oven! To pack a palatable punch, add in additional flavourings if you wish. A few cubes of butter, peppercorns and thyme leaves make for an extra tasty bird. An ideal choice for dinner parties.
